Community Involvement

company For more than 115 years Alter has provided exemplary metals recycling services to the communities we serve. While our scale and capabilities have expanded considerably over that period of time, our fundamental culture and core values have never changed. Our success is built on a culture of caring for our employees and their families.

A mid-western company with deep roots in our communities, we pride ourselves in caring for the environments of the cities and towns in which we live and operate. Our goal is to be a trusted resource for our business partners both customers and vendors.

We are committed, hardworking, and passionate about recycling metal in a safe environment providing the best quality material and services available.

We are a close community of more than 1,200 employees who challenge one another to get better every day. We are equally comfortable reaching out for help or advice, or lending a hand to assure mutual success. We value open communication.

We are deliberate in our hiring decisions because getting the "fit" right is essential. At Alter, the people who thrive in our culture are those who seek opportunities to do their best work cooperating with others and who share the same passion for helping others succeed.

Your Presence Matters. With the commitment and drive you bring to the workplace each day, you will be part of a team who are continually working to improve themselves, their communities and the company. You will see the tangible results of your contributions, where every employee matters and everyone has a chance to enhance their skills through ongoing development.

AAU Girls Basketball Success

Way to go girls!!!

Alter is a proud sponsor of a Girls 13U AAU Basketball Team in Wisconsin, the Waupun Sting. This summer the Team took 1st Place at Tournaments in Kenosha, WI, Sheboygan, WI, Wisconsin Dells, WI, and Madison, WI. Also, 3 of the "Sting Girls" competed in a 3 on 3 Streetball Tournament in Randolph, WI and won the Championship in that Tournament as well! Alter is thrilled at their achievement and proud to, quite literally, "have their backs".
