| July 12, 2010 - Reliable Recycling Company Acquired By Alter Trading Corporation
Effective July 12, 2010, Alter Trading Corporation purchased Wisconsin-based Reliable Recycling Company. Alter, a privately held firm, is a leading processor of scrap metal and currently employs 872 people. The acquisition of Reliable Recycling Company will increase Alter's Midwest footprint, further strengthening one of the largest scrap metal recycling companies in the United States.
Reliable was founded in 1995 and has grown steadily over the past 15 years, offering both ferrous and non-ferrous metal recycling services at four locations throughout Wisconsin and Michigan. Its 30 employees are active in their communities and dedicated to the environment around them. "This acquisition will only serve to enhance Alter's unwavering commitment to our consumers, our employees, the environment, and to the communities in which our facilities are located," said Robert S. Goldstein, Chairman, CEO and President of Alter Trading Corporation.
Reliable's Owner and President, Mark Wilson, stated, "After many years of working closely with the folks at Alter, I am excited for myself and my team to join the Alter family." Mr. Wilson will remain with Alter following the transaction in the position of Marketing Manager, based in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
