Alter Metal Recycling – Green Bay is located in the southwest corner of the Highways 41 and 29 interchange. We are situated on 39 acres in the Packerland Industrial Park. We are a processing yard that is home to an automobile shredder, three (3) 1,000 ton guillotine shears, and two (2) hydraulic balers, all at one location. Our two truck scales and the railroad scale are fitted with the latest radiation detectors to protect our employees and our customers. We purchase ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals from the general public, dealers, demolition contractors, industrial accounts, and brokers. With our fleet of trucks, we can provide container service that includes lugger boxes, roll-off boxes, gondola trailers, and loader trailers. Our material handlers are outfitted with magnets, grapples, or forks to suit your unloading needs.
The main scale is open Monday through Friday 7am to 4pm. The metals warehouse is open Monday through Friday 7am to 3:30pm. The recycling center is open to the public for walk in trade Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm.
We support the Howard Fire Department and numerous non-profit agencies and fund raising events. In 2011 we worked with the Aluminum Association to recycle the 66,343 aluminum cans used to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest continuous string of aluminum cans.
