In a Nut shell, The North Platte facility was developed from a green field in 2010. As a feeder yard it handles primarily peddler scrap. Ferrous is processed with material handlers and magnets. Non ferrous is processed with a vertical baler. Currently there are 7 employees. It is equipped with a 14x80 truck scale for ferrous and a 4x4 nonferrous scale.
As for the community, North Platte has approx. 25000 residents and is the county seat for Lincoln county. It is home to the Buffalo Bill Museum and the UPRR Bailey Yard. (considered the largest switching station on North America) handling 10,000 cars/day.
Primarily a service town, the largest employers are UPRR, Wal-Mart - Distribution Center, and Great Plains regional Center.
It has a regional airport with daily flights to Denver. And a community college.
